Yesterday HooYu held their Insurance Claims Investigator Forum in the iconic “Theatre of Dreams”, home to Manchester United FC .
The HooYu Insurance Claims Investigator Forum is an opportunity for insurance investigators to get together and discuss the issues that they are currently facing, while sharing knowledge, experience and insight into the industry. The HooYu Investigate platform is used by claims investigators to analyse names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and businesses connected to claim to uncover claims fraud.
It was a game of two halves starting with a networking lunch, helping investigators meet their peers from across the industry and a fascinating guided tour of the stadium, giving a behind the scenes look and the history of one of the biggest football clubs in the world.
The second half saw the players line-up, with the crowd gathering to be entertained by Peter Taylor, The Fraud Guy®, Dominic Blackburn, Product Director, HooYu and Richard Dyer, Director & Head of Investigations, Sedgwick.
Peter “scored” some excellent points with his opening presentation on how working together can enable investigators to reduce fraud, along with explaining how the fraudsters’ game has changed in the last 20 years. Previously 90% of fraud was committed by people lying about something. Now 50% of fraud involves people lying about both who they are and what has happened.
The ball was then passed to Dominic Blackburn who gave a live demo of how HooYu Investigate works. He tackled some real-life examples of insurance fraud demonstrating the speed and power of the service, showing what currently takes investigator days to discover now takes a matter of minutes using HooYu Investigate.
Richard Dyer, Director & Head of Investigations, Sedgwick finished off with his presentation on Financial Screening, discussing how effective screening can detect fraud without impeding honest policyholders.
The forum concluded with some extra-time in the bar, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss further the issues and solutions raised at the event.
